"When people talk listen completely. Don’t be thinking what you’re going to say. Most people never listen. Nor do they observe. You should be able to go into a room and when you come out know everything that you saw there and not only that. If that room gave you any feeling you should know exactly what it was that gave you that feeling… And always think of other people."

— Ernest Hemingway

"ENVIRONMENTAL PSYCHOLOGISTS describe the living room as an aspirational space, the place you present your best self, or the person you would like to be."

Parkcycle Swarm is an admirable concept. And also perhaps the antithesis of environmentalism…

the public display makes it personal. the individual size creates solidarity. its motility transforms using it into consumption.

We already exploit the environment through nearly everything we buy and use. Yet urban green spaces still give us the allusion of pure, untouched nature.

the proactivity of having to seek and discover gives purpose. feeling the warmth of shared earth beneath picnic blankets and between your toes universally renews. the chaotic yet balanced natural energy of the surroundings and its effect on living things is an unparalleled, irreplaceable experience.

Society will become even more disconnected and dismal when lounging in the park is treated as a commodity and people begin behaving as such.

"An artist is somebody in a particular field who wants to make change, and doesn’t use a textbook to figure out what that’s going to be. They actually write a new textbook, and they move the profession forward. They evolve the profession. The artist is someone who seeks to do something original. That’s it."
